About ABCD
ABCD is Wolverhampton's New Deal for Communities regeneration scheme serving the areas of All Saints, Blakenhall and Parkfield. Our mission is to create a better place to be for residents of and visitors to these vibrant and diverse neighbourhoods which are just South East of the city centre (See the map below for a breakdown of the area.) It is a private limited company registered at Companies House, Birmingham on 17th January 2003. The company number is 4640458, and the registered office is Suite A2 (Annexe), St John's House, St John's Square, Wolverhampton WV2 4AT.
Between 2001 and 2011 we will be investing £53.5 million into All Saints, Blakenhall and Parkfield. It will be used on projects that tackle crime, boost education, improve health, create jobs and ensure decent, warm homes. By the end of the programme we want the ABCD area to be thriving, a place lifted out of decades of deprivation and somewhere that people and businesses are proud to call home.
We are a community-led programme - meaning we base our programme around the wants and needs of the people who live and work in All Saints, Blakenhall and Parkfield. The majority of our board of directors are residents elected by their own communities.
ABCD is one of 39 New Deal for Communities schemes which operate across the country in the most deprived wards. All are funded by Central Government through the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM).
Within ABCD the Business Development Team has been established to act as the prime link between the business community and the ABCD organisation. The Business Development Team will be responsible for the on-going development of the EnterpriseABCD website, the Business Forum and other specialist events to help and assist companies within the ABCD area. Additionally they will be discussing ideas for new plans and projects to support the ABCD business community with individual companies in the area to try and ensure that these projects reflect the needs of local businesses.
