Research by the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) has revealed that British Pubs are closing at their fastest rate ever at almost four per day. Reasons behind the closures, according to the BBPA, are the credit crunch, the smoking ban, temperamental weather and increased beer prices. However, a spokesman for the BBPA remained optimistic and said he hoped the industry would expand and stabilise in the coming years.
